How NeuroFeedback Works
Client Expectations
The client can expect during a neurofeedback session to sit comfortably while electrodes are applied to the scalp or a cap is placed on the client’s head. The client then chooses a movie or t.v. show to watch during the session. When the specified brainwaves are produced, the client sees a clear picture of the movie, the movie plays, or the client hears a tone that “rewards” the brain and encourages it to produce more of the same brainwaves. When unwanted brainwaves are produced, the technician manipulates the movie or t.v. show to become darkened, quiet, or stop altogether, discouraging the brain from producing the unwanted brainwaves, thus re-training the amplitude of the brainwave and/or how the brain makes connections.
